BMS Institute of Technology and Management was established in 2002 and is located in Bangalore. Founded by the Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belagavi, this institute is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and is recognized by AICTE and NBA. In NIRF, BMSIT received a high ranking of 169. It is also affiliated with BMS College of Engineering. Sri B M Sreenivasaiah and his illustrious son, Sri B S Narayan, founded the BMS educational trust. A well-established government-aided engineering college in India, BMS Institute of Technology and Management is managed by the BMS Educational Trust, founded by the son of educationist B M Sreenivasaiah. This institute was established by B S Narayana, a son of educationist B M Sreenivasaiah. As a result of its recognition by Visvesvaraya Technological University as a research centre, BMS Institute of Technology has gained recognition as a research centre.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in B.E Programs:
The candidates must have passed the necessary examinations, which include the second year of Pre-University, the 12th standard, or an equivalent exam, with Physics and Mathematics as required subjects and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology, or Electronics. For engineering admission, the candidate must have received at least 45% of the total possible points in elective courses with English as one of the languages.
According to current management policies, a minimum of 60% of marks must be earned in order to be considered for engineering admission under the management quota at BMSIT&M.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in M.Tech Programs:
The candidates must have earned a bachelor’s degree in B.E. or B.Tech with a minimum average cumulative GPA of 50%. Additionally, it states that the candidate will be qualified if they have completed the Pre-University course and received 50% of the possible marks in one of the courses listed in the first proviso.

Direct Admission / Management Quota Admission in BMS Institute of Technology and Management
The BMS Educational Trust office handles admissions under management quota. The Chief of the Admission Committee distributes seats, and the Council of Trustees sets fees for the various courses under the management quota. Every year in June or July, the BMS Educational Trust publishes advertisements regarding admission, and application forms are sent to candidates.
The following documents have to be produced by the candidates at the time of admission to 1st year B.E. course along with the prescribed application form issued by the college.

- Allotment Order with Endorsement Letter from BMSET.
- Fees paid at Trust Office – Xerox of pink receipt.
- U.C./12th Standard Marks Card (Original + 2 sets of Xerox).
- S.L.C./10th Standard Marks Card (Original + 2 sets of Xerox).
- Transfer Certificate.
- Migration Certificate (In case of students studied other than PUC).
- Study Certificate from the Institution last attended (Original + 2 sets of Xerox).
- CET / COMED-K / JEEE Rank List Card (Xerox) – two copies.
- Parent Pan Card Xerox.
- Aadhaar Card Copy (student).
- Three latest passport size photographs.
