SRM University Admission Procedure

They are responsible for managing admissions for both the Indian and international students at SRM. Their Directorate of Admissions is the central administrative body for admissions at SRM.

Instructions to be followed
- All fields marked with * in the application form are mandatory to be filled.
- Please keep the following self-attested scanned documents ready before filling the application form:
- Photograph Image: Size should be 200 X 230 pixels, 5 MB
- Signature Image: Size should be 140 X 60 pixels, 5 MB
- After successful submission of the application form, an application number will be generated. Save that number for future reference and communications.
- Course/Campus preference selected at the time of application is only for statistical purposes, the actual course preference can be selected at the time of counselling based on SRMJEEE – All India Rank and availability of seats.
Admission to most programs is by a national level entrance test administered by authorized/statutory boards or organizations, or by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (previously SRM University). Only a few programs require direct admission. Along with the abovementioned requirements, obtaining the necessary minimum scores on the qualifying exam is another condition for admission eligibility.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in B.E Programs:
Applicant should have passed in Higher secondary examination (10, +2 pattern) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with a minimum of 60% aggregate ( 3 subjects) in Physics (mandatory) , Mathematics (mandatory) and at least one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Information Technology / Informatics Practices / Engineering Graphics / Botany and (or) Zoology as major subjects in regular subjects in regular stream from any board within India , CBSE , ISCE , Matriculation , IB or NIOS.
- Minimum 60% aggregate in PCM, PMB, PCB, PCB, or Z (Botany or Zoology) is required for B.Tech programs provided by the Department of Biotechnology, Department of Genetic Engineering, and Department of Biomedical Engineering.
- Students who did not study Mathematics as one of their major topics in +2 must complete an additional four-credit course in Mathematics during their first year of B.Tech.
- Students who have passed +2 through NIOS must have also completed the 10th standard through conventional schooling, or vice versa.
- In the first year, students who have never studied chemistry should take a bridging course in the subject.
